After some flaming absinthe and remarkable palaver, we finally flopped in beautiful oceanside. Today is remarkable day to go to the beach.

Nothing ever goes according to plan. It tuned out that i am stuck on the hill babysitting a restore for much longer then expected. Thankfully, i had a premonition about this and decided to make a quick stop over at Mel’s to get my nom on. i would certainly be gnawing my own extremities by now if i hadn’t.
I must say, Mel’s did me right! thanks! now back to watching status bars.
Update: ended up working for 3 more hours!

Tequila!
by be3n on May.26, 2006, under Food, Recreation, Travel

After the tour we met up with a friend Eric had made on his previous visit. We met up for more drinks and wonderful conversation. A really great guy with a lovely fiance. He is building a Tequila factory of his own. As the day came to an end, we had to pack our car and get back on the road. The sun was setting on the agave fields as we drove on to Morelia.

Mazatlan
by be3n on May.25, 2006, under Food, Recreation, Travel

Mazatlan is very touristy beach side town. Beneath the Americanized restaurants and hotels are wanna be tourist traps and expensive meals. Eric wanted seafood, but it was quite expensive all around. We finally found a nice taco stand run by some very social locals. Back on the road.

Mexican Hot Dog
by be3n on May.21, 2006, under Food, Recreation, Travel

Still in Nogales, we were hungry late at night. So we stopped at a hot dog stand. Similar to most American hot dog stands, only better. For starters they have dogs wrapped in bacon and grilled onions. They also have a wide assortment of garnish. From guacamole to mushrooms. Cotilla cheese to salsa. It ruled. Give it a go next time you are in town. American hot dog stands, take note.
